Bill Pettersen

Bill joined the firm in 2016. His practice includes governmental law, environmental and land use law, business transactions and litigation, and employment and labor law.

Bill studied Political Science and Economics at the University of Vermont and studied abroad at Saint Petersburg State University in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Bill received his law degree, cum laude, from the University of Illinois College of Law. During law school, Bill was an associate editor of the University of Illinois Law Review and was nominated for the Paul Lisnek Award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy.

Before joining the firm, Bill gained substantial experience as a judicial law clerk. During law school, he interned for the Honorable Joe B. McDade at the United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois. Following law school, Bill served as a judicial law clerk for the Lamoille County Superior Court of Vermont and for the Seventh District Court of Utah.

Bill is admitted to practice in Vermont and is a member of the Vermont Bar Association. Bill is a native of Montpelier and in his free time enjoys skiing, writing, and playing the piano.
