Anthea Dexter-Cooper

Anthea Dexter-Cooper Anthea joined the firm in 2015 and focuses her practice on civil litigation, municipal and land use law, and labor and employment law.

Within the realm of employment law, she brings extensive experience with federal contractor compliance to the firm. Anthea has routinely assisted companies in the preparation of affirmative action plans and the defense of Office of Federal Contract Compliance (OFCCP) audits. She is experienced in determining EEO-1 classifications, and performing job group analyses, utilization analyses, compensation analyses and adverse impact analyses.

She is a graduate of Cornell University (2006) and the University of Minnesota Law School (2010), cum laude. While in law school, Anthea was both a student instructor and a member of the competition team for the law school’s civil rights moot court. She also received an award from the Minnesota Justice Foundation for doing more than 400 hours of pro bono legal service, and was the treasurer and co-producer of the law school’s musical TORT (Theatre of the Relatively Talentless).

Upon graduation, Anthea spent two and a half years as an associate with the national labor and employment law firm Jackson Lewis P.C. before moving to Vermont to serve as a judicial law clerk in Vermont’s Superior Court. Anthea spent two years clerking in the Civil Division of Chittenden County, first for the Honorable Dennis Pearson, and most recently for the Honorable Helen Toor. Through this clerkship, Anthea gained invaluable experience with civil litigation in Vermont.

Anthea is a member of the Vermont Bar Association and is admitted to practice in both Vermont and New York. She is also on the board of Special Olympics Vermont and serves as the Governance Chair. In her free time, Anthea is usually running, hiking, skiing, or fixing up the house she recently purchased in Hinesburg with her boyfriend. They have an overly exuberant dog named Zippy.
